Question 5
The Correct Answer Is: FALSE
1 Peter 1:17-21: "17 And if you call on the Father, who without partiality judges according to each one's work, conduct yourselves throughout the time of your stay here in fear; 18 knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot. 20 He indeed was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you 21 who through Him believe in God, who raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God."
Ephesians 2:8: "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,"
In most cultures, as we grow up, we're taught to be more independent; to be able to learn to do things on our own. With sin however, such is not possible. Why not? Because the wages of sin is death (spiritual death). That is what we have earned. But the payment for sin that God will accept is the shed blood of a sinless human being. He will not accept anything stained with sin as the payment for sin (I John 1:5). And so, since we've sinned, we have nothing to give God that will be enough for Him to forgive us our sins. We need a Savior. That's why Jesus, the only begotten Son of God was sent to this earth. He lived a sinless life. He shed His blood as the payment for sin. God accepted that sacrifice. And so, if we obey God through faith, we will receive God's grace and be redeemed from sin. We cannot do so by ourselves, but we can have our sins forgiven through the blood of Christ.
