Question 3

Question 3

The Correct Answer Is: FALSE

Romans 6:23: "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Hebrews 10:26-31: "26 For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, 27 but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries. 28 Anyone who has rejected Moses' law dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. 29 Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace? 30 For we know Him who said, "Vengeance is Mine, I will repay," says the Lord. And again, "The Lord will judge His people."  31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God."

Oftentimes, as long as nobody gets hurt, we tend to minimize sin.  We do this in various ways such as referring to sin as indiscretions or by calling some lies 'little white lies'.  However, all sin, which means every sin, carries with it the same wage: death.  This death isn't physical death: but spiritual death: eternal separation from the presence of God in Hell.  Why does murder carry the same eternal penalty as lying?  Because both are an affront to the Holy character of God: one who does not sin and does not tolerate sin.  That means that all unforgiven sinners will be cast away from God's presence forever after the Judgment Day.  With all of this in mind, we therefore need to take sin seriously, and recognize that when we commit it, it is a problem that needs to be dealt with.
