Question 10
The Correct Answer Is: FALSE
Acts 4:8-12: "8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, "Rulers of the people and elders of Israel: 9 If we this day are judged for a good deed done to a helpless man, by what means he has been made well, 10 let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by Him this man stands here before you whole. 11 This is the 'stone which was rejected by you builders, which has become the chief cornerstone.' 12 Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."
So many people want to come to Jesus on their own terms, in their own time. Such an attitude fails to realize the seriousness of sin. Men and women view sin as no big deal, especially if nobody gets hurt. God however, views all sin as a big deal, so much so that he sent Jesus, His only begotten Son, to die in order to pay the price for sin. And since God was the one who paid the price for sin, God is the one who sets the terms and conditions for salvation. And those terms and conditions are met only through Jesus. We cannot believe in Mohammed and be saved. We cannot believe in Buddha and be saved. We cannot believe in Vishnu and be saved. We cannot believe in anybody else and be saved. Why not? Because none of those people died for my sins. Only Jesus did. And since God accepted Jesus' sacrifice as the payment for sin, I must place my faith in Jesus and what he did, and obey what is found in the Bible if I am to have my sins remitted and go to Heaven. I therefore cannot choose my own path to get to Heaven: I must choose the path paved by Jesus.
